I’m so excited to spend some quality time with my family tomorrow and enjoy an Easter feast! Not known to be the best cook in the family, I’m always responsible for setting the table.

This year I’m going for a chic, rustic, vintage vibe.  Here’s what I’m thinking…

I love the look of this fringed linen napkin with the aged silverware

This table runner has an abstract print that gives it a modern feel, but the burlap base keeps it looking rustic.

Something about Easter always makes me want to combine pink and blue.  These blue serving utensils will look lovely popped against the pink in the table runner!

Keeping with the vintage/rustic theme… I absolutely LOVE this pink waffle depression glass stemware!

How great is this dinnerware?  It definitely helps to tie in the pink and blue color scheme.

Lastly, so as not to upset my grandmother… a little traditional easter decor

In reading one of my favorite blogs, I came across this image and had mixed feelings.  I loved seeing all of the beautiful vintage pieces and the storage space looked functional, but I was left wondering if there was just too much going on.

Good Chemistry: Mercury Glass

One of the most classic finishes to use in accessorizing a space is glass. Mercury glass in particular adds a sense of elegance and sophistication to a space, yet in a vintage-inspired way. The details and “imperfections” in mercury glass create interest, and you only need 2-3 pieces to make an impact.

Here are a few ideas to get you started.

These are very exciting times… my little sister is pregnant with her first child and it’s a girl; I’m going to have another niece! Of course my job as the big sister is to throw a fabulous baby shower. I’ve scoured the web for ideas and thought I’d share my inspiration board with you.

Now I’m on a shopping mission to make my vision a reality. I can’t wait to show pics of the finished product!

Treasure Hunting

Today my sister and I decided to hit the Rose Bowl Flea Market.  It was the first time for both of us… so fun and so overwhelming.

My sister has discovered an obsession with turquoise, so she tried out this chair…

…but no purchase

I’m looking to re-upholster my dining room chairs so we stopped at a fabric booth…

…but no purchase

Finally, we found a piece that inspired us… a vintage electric guitar case

We’re thinking of turning it into a coffee table, but the possibilities are endless.  You’ll have to check back often to see what we make of our treasure 🙂
