Throwback Thursday to one of my very first posts from March 25, 2012… still one of my faves ♥

So, you want to add interest to a room, but you’re afraid of color… have no fear, here are some chic options that stick to a neutral black and white color palette.

Wallpaper is a bit of a commitment, but this one is just fabulous!

This bedding is crisp and clean, but still shows personality.

The oversized damask print on this chair is the right mix of fun and sophisticated.

This pillow is like adding abstract art to your couch.

Truly one of my favorite prints of the moment, this chevron rug is the definition of effortless chic!

Glam Restful Romantic Bedroom

When it comes to designing bedrooms, I have 3 rules:

1. The room must be a place that invites relaxation, tranquility and restfulness. This means a muted, simple and cool color palette is a must: think grey, pale blue, lavender or pale green.

2. A bedroom should feel romantic. Things that evoke romance in a room? Curved lines, soft simple bedding and ethereal details like lace and glass.

3. Lastly, I always like to infuse a little bit of glamour. In a bedroom this means reflective surfaces, wallpaper and ALWAYS, ALWAYS a fabulous chandelier.

Keeping my 3 key principles in mind, here’s my latest design for a relaxing, romantic and glamorous bedroom

I’m now fully in nursery decorating mode… is this what they call nesting? We’ve gone with a muted gray on the walls and white furniture. Now it’s time to bring in a little bit of color!
